Some men have a tendency to delay medical attention. Why? We have learned that it is usually based on fear, and unfortunately can have devastating consequences. Learn the 10 biggest fears men have regarding cancer and how you as a healthcare provider can help prevent men from delaying medical attention. 

Learning Goal (Purpose): This presentation will provide you with information about healthcare seeking behaviors among men.

Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

* Identify the three most common Cancers among men.
* Discuss two components of the Theory of Planned Behavior.
* Explain the link between fear and Cancer.

* Identify at least three fears men have in relation to Cancer.

This is a Gannett Education CE event. Participants who attend the webinar and complete the post-test and evaluation survey will earn:

* Registered Nurses: 1.0 contact hour
* Registered Dietitians: 1.0 CPEU
* Social Workers: 1.0 CE clock hours

Oren Shtayermman, PhD, is Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Chairperson, Mental Health Counseling Program Director, and Research Associate to VIP at New York Institute of Technology, School of Health Professions, Old Westbury, New York. He holds a PhD in social work. An educator since 2003, he is also a researcher and has published many articles in the field of social work.

Social Work Practice Level: Intermediate

Course Completion Requirements:

After listening to the webinar presentation, complete the course test online. With a score of 75% or better and completing the evaluation, you may immediately print your CE certificate of completion or save a pdf of it for your records. You may also request a copy to be sent to you by mail. If your score is less than the passing score of 75%, you may retake the test. In the event of loss, there is no charge for a replacement copy of a CE certificate.

How to Register/Attend:

  1. Complete the Webinar Pre-Registration Form above.
